FMS, renowned for its MBA programs, required a complete overhaul that would allow it to present itself in a contemporary digital environment while preserving its long-standing academic identity. This task required careful attention to design, content, and technical structure to ensure that the website was both academically authoritative and technically sophisticated. In addition to the design challenges, the website also needed a secure, scalable backend. The firm’s old site lacked the infrastructure to handle peak traffic, especially during crucial periods like admissions, when large volumes of visitors typically flood the site. A core part of the solution was to create a backend capable of scaling effectively during these high-demand periods while ensuring data security, reliable performance, and cost-efficiency.

Our Process

To begin the transformation of the FMS website, we initiated the project with an initial wireframe that served as the foundation for the site’s layout and design. We presented this wireframe to the FMS team for feedback, ensuring that the first stages of the process reflected the institution’s vision and requirements. We also adopted Trello as a project management tool, enabling seamless coordination between the design, development, and client teams. Trello helped maintain full transparency throughout the process, allowing real-time updates and easy tracking of tasks and feedback. In terms of design, we adopted an incremental approach. Rather than pushing forward with a fully developed concept, we worked closely with the FMS team throughout the process, refining the design based on their feedback and suggestions. The goal was to strike a balance between maintaining the university’s professional academic image and integrating modern UI/UX practices. This resulted in a clean, elegant design that was both functional and visually appealing, without being overly flashy or complicated. The design emphasized simplicity, clarity, and ease of navigation, in line with the institution’s ethos. On the technical side, we chose Next.js 14+ as the framework for building the website’s backend. Next.js is known for its ability to support fast loading times, server-side rendering, and the efficient delivery of content, all of which were essential for providing users with a seamless browsing experience. Firebase hosting and storage were chosen for their scalability and performance. Firebase’s ability to handle sudden spikes in traffic made it an ideal solution for FMS, particularly during high-traffic periods like admissions. The use of Firebase allowed us to build a solution that balanced scalability and cost-efficiency, ensuring that FMS wouldn’t face significant operational costs during busy times. We also focused heavily on SEO, ensuring that the website was optimized for search engines to maximize visibility and reach. This was crucial for a university like FMS, where prospective students and partners often find information via search engines. We implemented SEO best practices from the outset, ensuring that the website would rank highly for relevant keywords.
